Program Description

The Master of the Arts in Teaching Early Childhood/Special Education degree will prepare you to work with young children and their families in a variety of educational and early intervention settings.

Application Requirements

  • On-line graduate school application
  • Non-refundable application fee
  • Official transcripts from all accredited colleges or universities attended, with minimum 2.67 GPA
  • Two letters of recommendation from current professional references with cover sheet Note: Recommendations must be obtained from individuals who are not family members, personal friends, or members of the School of Education at the University of Saint Joseph.
  • Personal entrance essay (typed, double spaced, 1-2 pages long)
    • The essay must briefly describe your reasons for wanting to enroll in the program and emphasize your experiences and dispositions relevant to teaching. It must be your own work.
  • Interview where a planned program of study will be developed once all application requirements received
  • Immunization record
